Responsible for strengthening the national health system to ensure quality and accessible healthcare services. Its functions include: health systems development through policies and service delivery network improvements; health human resource management, such as deployment and training of health workers; infrastructure and equipment support via health facility upgrades and provision of medical tools; health information systems to enhance data collection and ICT integration; procurement and supply chain management for efficient delivery of medicines and supplies; and support to local government units (LGUs) in managing devolved health services and promoting integrated city health systems
